Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Rehabilitation Mechanical Specialist to join our team at Shared Health. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert mechanical services to support the rehabilitation of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct clinical service delivery, including mechanical repairs and maintenance.
  • Document all clinical service delivery activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Contribute to education and research initiatives, sharing expertise and best practices.
  • Maintain a safe working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience in welding and sheet metal fabrication is essential.
  • Automotive repairs and adaptation experience is preferred.
  • Proficiency in operating various machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and metal bending equipment.
  • Ability to work with diverse materials, such as ABS, polyurethane, steel, aluminum, and wood.
  • Experience working with disabled persons and assessing/solving problems related to wheelchair seating is preferred.
Education and Certification
  • High school education or equivalent is required.
  • Certified Red Seal Machinist with a minimum of 3 years of journeyperson experience is mandatory.
  • 2-year Manufacturing Technician Diploma or 1-year Precision Metal Machining Certificate is preferred.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Customer service focus, with a commitment to patient/therapist interactions.
  • Ability to work under stress, adapt to a busy environment, and meet tight deadlines.
Physical Requirements
  • Mental and physical health must be sufficient to meet the demands of the job.
