Job Summary

Saskatchewan Polytechnic is seeking a qualified Disability Support Worker Instructor to join our team. As an Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering lessons, lectures, and demonstrations to students and staff, as well as supervising students in classrooms and labs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and deliver educational content to students and staff
  • Select, design, and update training aids and materials
  • Supervise students in classrooms and labs, following institute and safety guidelines
  • Evaluate and record student progress using assessments and observations
  • Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies
  • Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment
  • Plan and deliver content that reflects the values, beliefs, and needs of a culturally diverse community
  • Provide evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students
  • Respond to curriculum demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs
  • Develop new curriculum as needed

Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities

  • Recognized relevant four-year degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Two years recent and relevant work experience working with services to individuals with varying abilities
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Effective instructional ability
  • Able to function as a team member in an ever-changing environment
  • Demonstrated competence in the use of technology, including the internet, email, and MS Office Suite software
