Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development:
- High-Performing Team Management: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of sourcing professionals, providing strategic direction and fostering continuous learning and improvement.
- Culture Cultivation: Foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing among team members, emphasizing collective success and individual growth.
- Performance Optimization: Establish clear performance expectations and provide ongoing support to optimize team performance and individual growth.
- Risk Management: Ensure continuity of operations by building redundancies, maintaining knowledge libraries, and cross-training.
- Customer Services: Establish high standards of team customer service.
Strategic Sourcing:
Lead and manage sourcing events, independently or in collaboration with the Director of Procurement & Sourcing:
- Demand Analysis:
- Partnering and Collaborating: Partner and collaborate with internal business units and cross-functional teams to determine business requirements.
- Market Research:
- Conduct Supply Market Research: Conduct supply market research and baseline spend analysis.
- Sourcing Strategy:
- Establish Sourcing Strategies: Establish sourcing strategies that deliver financial and non-financial benefits.
- Tendering (RFx):
- Prepare and Issue RFx: Prepare and issue RFI, RFQ, or RFPs as agreed with internal business units and cross-functional teams.
- Supplier Evaluation & Selection:
- Evaluate Responses: Evaluate responses and conduct negotiations with best-in-class procurement methods.
- Provides Expert Recommendations: Provides expert recommendations to internal stakeholders.
- Establishes Effective Partnering Relationships: Establishes and maintains effective partnering relationships within business units and internal support organizations and externally with suppliers.
- Contract Negotiation:
- Lead Contract Negotiations: Lead contract negotiations and oversee contract drafting and execution.
- Establishes Service Level Agreements: Establishes Service Level Agreements with internal customers and Key Performance Indicators for the organization to meet annual objectives and long-term strategies.
- Supplier Onboarding:
- Collaborate with Procurement Operations and Finance Team: Collaborate with procurement operations and finance teams for supplier onboarding.
- Supplier Performance & Relationship Management:
- Conducts Supplier Relationship Management Framework: Conducts Supplier Relationship Management framework with key suppliers.
- Expertly Uses Legal, Commercial, and Business Principles: Expertly uses a complete set of legal, commercial, and business principles to develop and enforce partnership agreements with strategic suppliers.
- Locates Appropriate Vendors: Locates appropriate vendors in emerging countries and develops sustainable partnerships.
- Leads Market Intelligence: Leads market intelligence to identify relevant external innovations and seek competitive advantages by partnering with world-class suppliers.
Category Management:
- Leads Formulation and Implementation: Leads formulation and implementation of category strategies.
- Conducts Category Intelligence Research: Conducts category intelligence research and partners with stakeholders to deliver financial and other performance targets.
- Conducts Cross-Functional Cost Reduction: Conducts cross-functional cost reduction, cost avoidance, and/or net cash working capital improvement initiatives.
- Builds a Culture and Delivers Sustainable Value: Builds a culture and delivers sustainable value without compromising supply assurance or quality.
- Contributes to Improvement of Internal Procurement Practices:
- Participates in Establishment of Best-in-Class Procurement Methods: Participates in the establishment of best-in-class procurement methods.
- Develops Models to Evaluate Supplier Proposals: Develops models to evaluate supplier proposals using quantitative and qualitative criteria.
- Supports Purchasing and Project Teams: Supports purchasing and project teams in resolving issues with key suppliers.
- Follows Relevant Category Metrics: Follows relevant category metrics to consistently deliver expected cost reduction plans.
Performance Tracking and Reporting:
- Develops Comprehensive Tracking Systems: Develops and upholds comprehensive tracking and reporting systems to monitor sourcing performance.
Operational Excellence & Governance:
- Champions Optimization: Leads efforts to optimize S-2-P processes, prioritizing superior efficiency value and user experience for all stakeholders involved in procuring goods and services.
- Develops and Implements Best Practices: Develops and implements best practices, standards, RFx templates, and guidelines to streamline strategic sourcing processes.
- Develops, Articulates, and Executes Strategic Vision: Develops, articulates, and executes the strategic vision and objectives of central-led initiatives.
- Drives Governance: Drives adoption and ensures compliance for S-2-P punchouts or guided buying.
- Establishes S-2-P Governance Program: Establishes a S-2-P governance program to ensure realization of business case benefits.
Ambassador:
- Acts as Ambassador: Acts as an ambassador for the Strategic Sourcing team and Intelcom.
- Further Develops Departmental Relationships: Further develops departmental relationships with internal customers through all engagements and current/potential service providers to Intelcom.
- Effectively Communicates and Promotes Successes: Effectively communicates and promotes the successes of the team.
- Actively Engages in Learning: Actively engages in learning Corporate and Commercial subject matter, negotiation best practices, Intelcom's and its affiliates' governance and business processes.
The Ideal Candidate:
• Bachelor's degree in law, Supply Chain Management, Management, Commerce, Engineering, Operations, Law, or other applicable discipline required.
• Demonstrated communication (verbal and written), analytical, negotiation, and project management skills.
• Proficient in English required. Other languages considered an asset.
• Required proficiency in Microsoft Suite products, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. BI considered an asset.
• Knowledge of the logistics (last mile & middle mile) market considered an asset.
• Required minimum 8-12 years of relevant experience including sourcing, category, and vendor management, purchasing, and/or material management. Technical/manufacturing experience and/or equivalent experience considered an asset.
• Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and manage changing priorities.
• Strong entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to innovate.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High degree of professionalism and discretion is essential.
• Flexibility with work hours and occasional travel may be required.
• Experience with Intake-2-Pay and Sourcing-2-Pay platforms preferred.
• Relationship builder and stakeholder manager. Ability to form and grow own networks. Proven ability to analyze and present findings in a clear and cohesive manner.
• Self-directed, able to work independently, as well as work in a team-orientated and fast-paced environment.
• Capable of navigating through ambiguous situations. Ability to work collaboratively and support multiple initiatives. Must have strong problem-solving, strategic, and analytical capability.
