Senior Project Engineer

Pinchin is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Engineer to join our Mechanical Engineering team in Mississauga, Ontario.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design and engineering of HVAC, plumbing, and low-carbon electrification projects for commercial, institutional, and residential facilities.
  • Prepare detailed engineering designs for district energy and heat pump-based systems, including system layouts, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Conduct site inspections, system performance monitoring, and provide engineering assessments for existing and new systems.
  • Prepare cost estimates, technical reports, feasibility studies, and business cases for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical expertise to other groups within Pinchin.
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and technologists, supporting their growth and development.
  • Stay current with industry trends, standards, and best practices to support ongoing improvement in our engineering practice.
  • Meet prospective clients, introduce them to Pinchin, and demonstrate our technical capabilities and solutions.
Requirements:
  • University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering, with a strong background in building HVAC and plumbing system design, particularly hydronic systems for heating and cooling.
  • Experience in energy audits, energy modeling, and evaluating energy efficiency measures for building mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as AutoCAD, IES, and Trace.
  • Excellent technical writing, research, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and client relationship skills.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to travel to various client sites locally and to adjacent provinces.
