Job Summary

As a Business Systems Analyst within the Royal Bank of Canada's Technology and Operations team, you will play a key role in analyzing and developing functional business requirements and modules testing for assigned projects. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your complete knowledge, skills, and practices to perform assignments and contribute to the success of the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Understand the client's business and identify opportunities and risks to inform requirements, conduct information gathering sessions, and prepare detailed business requirements.
  • Assess, research, analyze, and document sponsor/stakeholder needs in accordance with the Project Life Cycle and Capability Maturity Model deliverables.
  • Contribute to successful project completion by identifying risks and developing/recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Function as a liaison between the business and the project team, walking stakeholders through requirements and managing expectations regarding scope.
  • Contribute to test case creation, ensuring that test cases are tightly integrated with requirements specifications.
  • Provide direction, expertise, feedback, coaching, and development to build the capability of more junior staff and drive a strong drive to learn.
  • Participate in planning with other Business Analysts, the Project Manager, and client in the early stages of project formation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional project teams comprised of HRCT Teams, Business Partners, T&O IT Teams, and Vendors.
Requirements
  • Proven experience (3 to 7 years) working in small to medium-sized projects in Agile or iterative waterfall project teams as a Business Analyst with a university degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work independently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Strong analytical, trend analysis, problem identification, and resolution skills.
  • Great attention to detail, organizational skills, and an analytical mind.
Preferred Qualifications
  • SAP and Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Experience an asset.
  • Workday Understanding.
  • Agile Certification (CSM, CPO).
  • Professional in Business Analysis Certification (PMI – PBA).
  • Masters Certificate in Business Analysis.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (IIBA-CBAP or CCBA).
