About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Security Automation Specialist to join our team in Toronto, ON. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in implementing and maintaining our security infrastructure.

Job Description

The Technical Security Automation Specialist will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions to enhance our security operations. This includes integrating and configuring automations on our Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) platform, leading the team through technical implementations.

You will refine and translate complex business requirements into executable solutions, executing best practice methodologies and documenting automations. Your expertise will be utilized to design solutions, write code, perform unit testing, develop appropriate artifacts/documentation, and facilitate final delivery.

In this role, you will support environment and application issues, exercising judgment and independently troubleshooting, diagnosis, and root-cause analysis. You will communicate effectively in crisis situations with all levels of an organization from Engineering/Operations to Senior Management, interacting with security and IT technologies.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven expertise in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, PowerShell, and Bash scripting.
  • Strong understanding of security tools including Firewalls, IPS/IDS, SIEM, EDR, XDR, etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues and solutions in a clear, concise, and succinct manner to various audiences.
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and remediate technical issues.
  • Knowledge of software development best practices, including code standards, reviews, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of IT security concepts and practices, with demonstrative experience of automating related workflows.
  • Experience in utilizing CI/CD tools (such as GitHub Actions) to automate, build, test, and deploy processes, ensuring smooth and efficient software delivery.
  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office, Lucid/Gliffy, Jira, Confluence.
