Career Overview:

Paladin Security's Healthcare Division is seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Security Professional to join our team at various healthcare facilities in Lethbridge and surrounding areas.

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to providing top-notch security services to our clients.

About the Role:

This position involves working 4 on, 4 off rotations (2 days 0700-1900, 2 nights 1900-0700) and requires a reliable mode of transportation. On Call Security Guards are guaranteed a base rate during all on call hours, which jumps to the site-specific rate when called out to shifts. Mileage is compensated when traveling more than 50km one-way from the employee's base location.

The ideal candidate will be able to provide support, empathy, customer service, and public safety to not only healthcare staff but also visitors, clients, and patients. They will be responsible for performing tasks such as access control, monitoring and responding to incidents, conducting patrols, and investigating irregularities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide access control in/out of the facility and within restricted areas
  • Monitor and respond to incidents identified around property, including on cameras
  • Conduct patrols of the facility to monitor for risks such as unlocked doors, blocked entrances/exits, mechanical issues, hazardous materials, and general security breaches
  • Respond to alarms and emergency calls for assistance
  • Investigate and report any irregularities that are identified through the course of duties

What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary of $45,000-$55,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth and development. As a valued member of our team, you can expect to receive comprehensive training, ongoing support, and recognition for your contributions.

Requirements:

  • Valid AB Security license or willingness to obtain one prior to commencing work with Paladin Security
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, and proven de-escalation skills
  • Calm under pressure, confident in problem-solving abilities, and empathetic approach to conflict resolution
  • Ability to perform physical aspects of the job, including walking up to 20km/shift, walking up/down stairs, and pushing/pulling 30-pound doors
