Cardiology Opportunity at Island Health

Island Health is seeking a skilled Cardiologist to join our team at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital. As a member of our Department of Cardiology, you will be part of a well-established 20-member Division of Cardiology in Victoria.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consultation services for hospitalist and other specialty groups
  • Interpret echocardiograms (Canadian level 2 training or higher with currency)
  • Read Holter and ECG tests
  • Supervise nuclear perfusion imaging
  • Perform pericardiocentesis, DC Cardioversions, and rapid cardiac assessment clinics
  • Follow up with patients in a private office setting
  • Participate in cardiology division and other relevant meetings

Requirements:

  • FRCPC Cardiology or eligibility for Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Internal Medicine and Cardiology exams
  • Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of BC
  • Preference given to candidates with experience in coronary care units and acute and office-based cardiology
