Construction Project Manager

Are you a seasoned Project Manager looking for a new challenge in the Commercial Construction industry? We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team at a reputable General Contractor.
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for participating in new project sales meetings, preparing and monitoring construction schedules and job costs, and managing owner and consultant-initiated change notices and change orders. You will also be responsible for requesting pricing from subcontractors, receiving and reviewing shop drawings, and setting up and attending site subcontractor coordination meetings.
The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of previous Project Management experience, a university or college diploma in a relevant construction/engineering program, and excellent computer skills including experience using MS Office, Project, Scheduling and Project Management software.

Key Responsibilities:
Participate in new project sales meetings with potential clientsPrepare, monitor and update construction schedules and job costsManage owner and consultant-initiated change notices and change ordersRequest pricing from subcontractors for change notices and process subcontractor change ordersReceive, review and process shop drawingsSet up and attend site subcontractor coordination meetings and take minutes and distribute to all partiesSet up and attend Owner / Consultant meetings and take minutes and distribute to all partiesAssist the Project Estimator in preparing estimates when requiredReview and approve subcontractor monthly progress drawPrepare monthly progress claims and submit to the Owner for paymentPrepare monthly project forecastingEnsure the Site Superintendent has all up to date project documents including drawings, specifications, subcontracts, schedules, and change ordersWork closely with Superintendent to ensure overall coordination of the project
Requirements:
4+ years previous Project Management experience working on diverse projectsUniversity or college diploma in a relevant construction/engineering programIntegrated Project Delivery Contract experience an assetExcellent computer skills including experience using MS Office, Project, Scheduling and Project Management softwareExperience in all forms of contracts and deliverySound knowledge in the review and negotiation of contracts for construction projects Strong technical, business, financial and legal acumenExcellent communication skills (oral, written, presentations), including the ability to successfully translate technical information to non-technical individualsExperience working with different project delivery methodsExemplary leadership skills, including strong teambuilding capabilitiesExcellent relationship building skills and ability problem solveMust have and maintain a valid provincial driver's licenseAbility to travel on average once a month to visit sites under construction
