About the Role
The Prime Services, Collateral Management & Funding Engineering (PACE) Team is a key part of the Global Technologies Applications team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in the dynamic world of Capital markets. We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join this high-performing team. The successful candidate will act as a developer for the Prime Services Data Interface (PSDI) platform, a central operational data store and data warehouse for Prime Services transaction processing systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as a developer for the Prime Service Data Interface (PSDI) team with a strong sense of ownership for system stability and capacity.
- Exhibit strong technical and dev ops skills, with hands-on development responsibilities.
- Interact with other teams, such as Product Development, Quality Assurance, support teams, and other internal Scotia teams, to execute and deliver projects.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in software design and software development lifecycle.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
- Strong hands-on experience in developing high-performance Java backend applications.
- Strong knowledge of core Java, multi-threading, and collections.
- Message-oriented middleware implementation experience using MQ/Tibco EMS/Kafka.
- Experience building and tuning complex SQL queries on databases such as Oracle, Sybase, etc.
Preferred Skills
- Dev Ops: Source Code control/Release management tools (GIT, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, Gradle, Splunk preferred).
- Knowledge/Experience in Unix shell scripting.
- Python.
