We are seeking a highly skilled Marine Engineer to join our team as a Vessel Operations Manager. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about maintaining safe and efficient vessel operations.
Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our vessels, including maintenance, repairs, and preventative measures. They will work closely with our crew to ensure that all safety protocols are followed and that our vessels are always in good working condition.
Key Responsibilities- Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on vessels, including engines, generators, and other essential systems.
- Safety Protocols: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed at all times, including regular inspections and testing of safety equipment.
- Crew Management: Work closely with our crew to ensure that they are aware of and following all safety protocols and procedures.
- Emergency Response: Develop and implement emergency response plans, including procedures for dealing with fires, floods, and other emergencies.
- Vessel Inspection: Conduct regular inspections of vessels to ensure that they are in good working condition and that all safety protocols are being followed.
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A degree in marine engineering or a related field.
- Relevant experience in vessel maintenance and repair.
- A valid Transport Canada Small Vessel Machinery Operator (SVMO) Certificate or Valid Fourth Class (or higher) Motor Certificate of Competency.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
