About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Carpenter Lead Hand to join our team at BG Custom Homes Limited. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the installation of various carpentry components, including framing, finishing, and trim work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of carpentry crew members to ensure projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware.
  • Schedule and coordinate work on sites, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing delays.
  • Instruct apprentices and provide guidance to junior crew members.
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in carpentry, with a strong background in supervisory roles.
  • Trade certification in carpentry, such as the Carpenter Red Seal Certificate.
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) training and certification.
  • Working at Heights training and certification.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
