Registered Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Surgical Services team at Chilliwack General Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care, assess patient needs, and develop and implement individualized care plans.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to inform nursing diagnoses and develop effective care plans.
- Collaborate with patients, families, and caregivers to promote person-centered care and ensure patient autonomy and dignity.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring comprehensive care planning and delivery.
- Coordinate nursing care, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to support staff.
- Perform non-invasive diagnostic tests, such as ankle-brachial indexes and transcutaneous oxygen measurement.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to identify and resolve issues, adjust care plans as needed, and address changes in patient condition.
- Teach patients and families about illness prevention, health restoration, and health maintenance to support self-care and discharge planning.
- Document assessments, nursing diagnoses, interventions, patient responses, outcomes, and referrals according to practice standards and Fraser Health procedures.
- Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment, provide nursing care, and communicate effectively with patients, families, and caregivers.
- Ability to promote person-centered care, integrate and evaluate data, and teach patients and families about health care and well-being.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including computer applications.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
