Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Informatics Specialist to join our team at the Provincial Health Services Authority. As a key member of our Clinical Informatics team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of clinical information systems that improve patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clinical Workflow Assessment and Design: Perform thorough assessments of clinical workflows and design digital health solutions that meet the needs of healthcare providers and patients.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Work closely with clinical groups, project teams, and stakeholders to identify technology gaps and clinical needs, and provide subject matter expertise in system design and evaluation.
  • System Design and Evaluation: Lead the development of clinical information systems and evaluate their effectiveness in improving patient care and outcomes.
  • Change Management and Policy Development: Develop and implement policies and procedures related to clinical information systems and lead change management initiatives to ensure successful adoption.
  • Steering Committee and Taskforce Participation: Participate in steering committees and taskforces to drive clinical informatics and information technology initiatives forward.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as an RN with the British Columbia College of Nurses & Midwives (BCCNM), and three years' experience in a Clinical Informatics environment.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Demonstrated experience in policy and procedure development, clinical documentation standards, business process analysis, and project management practices.
  • Commitment to Reconciliation: Commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, and knowledge of social, economic, political, and historical realities impacting Indigenous communities.
