Job Overview:

We're seeking a highly skilled Data Architect to join our technology team. As a key player, you'll design and build cloud and data solutions, leveraging your expertise in architecture and development. Your ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment will be invaluable as we embark on a digital transformation journey.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and develop resilient, cloud and hybrid-cloud data solutions with exceptional architecture and design.
  2. Apply a strategic mindset to direct the technology stack, minimizing technical debt and maximizing digital transformation opportunities.
  3. Provide expert guidance on a multi-year data architecture modernization program, ensuring the target architecture meets our evolving needs.
  4. Utilize expertise in data and advanced analytics to design patterns and principles, engineering principles, and develop frameworks for scalable applications.
  5. Architect solutions in a lean/agile manner, considering scalability, resilience, partner interfaces, security, data validation, representation, and storage.
  6. Mentor and influence the team to deliver well-architected solutions.
  7. Contribute to the technical solution from design to code level.
  8. Collaboratively evolve and communicate the target architecture design and roadmap.
  9. Document designs to foster knowledge sharing and create agreement on the built solutions.
  10. Promote best practices for software engineering to ensure solid code and usability consistency.

Requirements:

  1. 8-10 years' experience as a Data Architect with expertise in designing and developing complex, scalable client-facing solutions using a mix of on-premises and cloud technologies.
  2. Excellent analytical skills and ability to grasp complex business concepts quickly.
  3. Experience in programming, scripting, automation, and customization initiatives.
  4. Excellent soft skills and ability to communicate ideas and concepts to business sponsors and non-technical colleagues.
  5. Critical thinking capabilities and a consultative mindset.
  6. Financial Services industry experience, preferably interacting with data flowing from Broadridge Dataphile or ISM back-office applications, and/or trading applications.
  7. Experience with Snowflake or a competing cloud data platform.
  8. Ability to thrive in a busy and evolving, wealth management technology environment.
  9. Understanding of BI Reporting, ETL/ELT, and OLAP architecture.
  10. Experience with the Azure cloud computing platform.
  11. Experience with data governance, master data management (MDM), data tagging, data masking.

Education:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Business Intelligence, Data Science, or related education or commensurate experience.
  2. A Canadian Securities Course is a definite advantage.
