At Heartland Childcare, we are seeking a skilled Early Childhood Educator Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with children and families in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about early childhood education and has experience working with young children. As an Early Childhood Educator Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the daily operations of our childcare centre, including preparing activities, engaging children in play-based learning, and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.

The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and possess a positive attitude towards working with children and families from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities
  • Bathing, diapering, and feeding infants and toddlers
  • Developing and implementing child-care programs that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development
  • Storytelling and engaging children in activities such as singing and crafting
  • Assisting in keeping records and observing children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues
  • Preparing snacks and arranging rooms for lunch and rest periods
Requirements
  • Educational background: Completion of secondary school and relevant training or certification
  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a childcare setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical ability to lift, bend, and move equipment and supplies
