CNC Machining Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to join our team at CNC Machining in an automotive manufacturing setting.

Job Summary:

This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating conventional and computer-controlled machine tools, reading and interpreting engineering drawings, and verifying dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications.

Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to produce high-quality machined parts
  • Set up and adjust production machinery/tools to ensure efficient and accurate production
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance, adhering to specifications and tolerances
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances, maintaining inspection records and completing inspection reports
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools, ensuring precision and quality
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in a related field preferred
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma; experience and skills are more important than formal education
  • Experience an asset; training on the job available
Work Environment:
  • Non-smoking work site environment
  • Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately under pressure essential
Benefits:
  • Estimated salary range: $45,000 - $65,000 per year
