About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Framing Carpenter to join our team at Weston Road Construction Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity of our buildings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Building Layouts: Use measuring tools to create accurate layouts in accordance with building codes.
  • Carpentry and Joinery: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials.
  • Tendering and Quotations: Prepare detailed tenders and quotations for clients.
  • Site Management: Schedule and coordinate work on construction sites, ensuring timely completion of projects.
  • Surveying and Levelling: Conduct site surveys and ensure building levels are accurate.
  • Training and Supervision: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers on site.
  • Estimating and Cost Control: Accurately estimate costs and materials required for projects.
  • Computer-Aided Design (CAD): Operate CAD software to create detailed designs and plans.
  • Maintenance and Renovation: Maintain, repair, and renovate residential and commercial properties.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Work Environment: Noisy and dusty work environments.
  • Work Setting: Construction sites, various locations, and renovation projects.
  • Physical Demands: Bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, and working in a physically demanding environment.
  • Work Conditions: Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and working under tight deadlines.
