About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Life Skills Outreach Worker to join our Seniors MHSU team at Lansdowne Centre in Kamloops. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a comprehensive array of services within a psychosocial rehabilitation framework to adults with serious and persistent mental illness and/or within a harm reduction framework for those with substance use problems/disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide outreach, community, and facility care services to seniors with serious and persistent mental health issues and/or substance use problems/disorders.
  • Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary Mental Health and Addictions Team to provide a comprehensive array of services.
  • Offer a variety of rehabilitative and treatment modalities, including outreach, community, and facility care.
  • Support seniors in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of mental health and addiction issues, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to adapt to changing circumstances.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to manage multiple priorities. You will also need to be able to work in a variety of settings, including community and facility-based settings.
