Research Associate, Forest Ecology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced researcher to join our team at the Centre for Boreal Research in Peace River, Alberta.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading applied research projects focused on forest reclamation and reforestation. This will involve conceptualizing and developing project proposals, conducting field work, analyzing complex data sets, and communicating results through technical reports and presentations.

This is a temporary position for a period of 2 years, with opportunities for professional growth and development. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced environment, with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. They will also have expertise in R statistical software, Microsoft Office, and ArcGIS, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills.

The salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings, and paid time off.

To be eligible for this role, you will need to have a Master's degree (PhD preferred) in ecology, with a focus on native plant communities. You will also require at least 5 years of related experience, with a proven track record of success in experimental design and execution. A Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract is also required.
