Senior QA Analyst Job Description

About the Role:

The Senior QA Analyst will be responsible for leading the testing efforts for new and modified software applications, ensuring they meet the company's quality standards. This includes developing and executing test plans, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and mentoring junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive test plans to ensure software applications meet quality standards
  • Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize testing efforts
  • Mentor and guide junior team members in testing activities and automation efforts
  • Identify and report on testing progress, issues, and blockers
  • Develop and maintain thorough documentation of testing processes, test cases, and test results
  • Lead activities of offshore QA teams, ensuring efficient process management and workflow execution
  • Work closely with business analysts and developers to ensure testing aligns with sprint timelines and quality standards
  • Champion quality guidelines and standards, providing feedback to improve processes
  • Continuously improve test engineering practices, including the adoption of new tools and methodologies

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent in a related technical field
  • 5+ years' experience in software QA, with a strong application of QA best practices
  • Familiarity with Salesforce Marketing Cloud or eagerness to learn and adapt to our tools and processes
  • Strong experience in manual testing, agile environments, and a track record of driving quality improvements in complex software environments
  • Experience with API and backend testing, as well as other non-functional types of software testing
  • Experience with Agile project tracking tools like JIRA and a strong grasp of Agile methodologies and information systems concepts
  • Experience working with development projects involving POS systems and retail commerce platforms
  • Experience testing microservices and their integrations with other systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, enabling you to convey complex ideas clearly
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and possess excellent multi-tasking abilities
  • Understanding of product and project risks and ability to communicate them effectively
  • Passion for championing quality in all its forms and actively seeking to improve processes
  • Proactive in identifying the root causes of issues and developing effective solutions
  • Highly flexible and adaptable when faced with ambiguity and changing requirements
  • Ability to strike a balance between working independently and collaborating effectively with others
  • Committed to continuous improvement in all aspects of work

What We Offer:

A competitive salary range of $80,000 - $100,000 CAD per year, plus a bonus program and benefits package.
