Cost Accountant

The Cost Accountant will be responsible for costing and general accounting duties in a manufacturing environment. This role requires 3+ years of accounting experience and strong costing knowledge. The ideal candidate is working towards their CPA designation, but undesignated energetic go-getters with strong accounting and costing knowledge will be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Complete all scheduled month-end tasks as assigned.
- Prepare month-end and ad hoc journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Prepare reports for Management team to provide information on: labour, shrink, standard costing and operations variances on a weekly or monthly basis.
- Setting up all product codes in the system for sales, purchasing and inventory.
- Determine product costing for all SKU's.
- Assist the Assistant Controller with account and vendor reconciliations on a monthly/quarterly basis.
- Provide support to the Assistant Controller in the preparation and maintenance of capital asset records and capital expenditure reporting for Management.
- Cross-train in order to provide back-up duties for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivables when required.
- Assist with the team with the year-end audit and any other audit/tax return requirements.
