In this pivotal position within our Advisory team, you will have the chance to engage in both team leadership and project management responsibilities while remaining closely involved in project execution. You will guide a team in delivering strategic advisory services for both public and private sector initiatives, encompassing areas such as business case development, economic analysis, alternative procurement strategies, due diligence, climate change adaptation, sustainability, and asset management for significant infrastructure projects.

The Canadian Advisory team is committed to seamlessly integrating with our North American Advisory Regional practice and the wider Mott MacDonald organization to provide our clients with high-value advisory services that complement our engineering and project management capabilities.
With various focus areas within the Canadian Advisory team, there is flexibility and opportunity to tailor your role to leverage your unique experiences and strengths.
Your responsibilities in this role may include:
- Contributing to the enhancement of Advisory services, particularly in relation to Alternative Procurement guidance for major transportation infrastructure clients.
- Providing strategic advice to public sector authorities regarding the procurement and capital investment of their infrastructure programs and projects.
- Assisting in the creation of procurement documentation, including alternative procurement methods such as P3s, CMGCs, and PDBs.
- Supporting a variety of projects through structured decision-making and options assessment/appraisal processes.
- Facilitating climate resilience and adaptation strategies, assessments, and implementation plans for clients.
- Managing risk for both internal and external projects.
- Overseeing and mentoring team members as part of line management responsibilities.
- Reviewing and approving reports and project audits.
- Leading and preparing proposals.
- Managing internal commercial aspects of project performance, including budget oversight and reporting.
- Contributing to initiatives for the regional and global business.
To excel in this role, you should possess:
- A post-secondary degree and over 15 years of relevant experience in developing technical procurement documentation, engineering, or infrastructure development.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies.
- Experience and knowledge of the engineering and construction sectors, having successfully delivered projects across various domains (e.g., Built Environment, Transportation, Water, Energy).
- Expertise in risk identification, management, and mitigation.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience in leading and collaborating within a team.
- Exceptional written and presentation abilities.
- The capability to work independently and without supervision.
