Kitchen Assistant

We are seeking a reliable and efficient Kitchen Helper to join our team at Nick's Family Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our dining room and kitchen areas.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with food preparation, including washing, peeling, and cutting vegetables and fruits.
- Operate dishwashers to wash dishes, glassware, and flatware.
- Replenish condiments and other supplies at tables and serving areas.
- Sanitize and wash dishes and other items by hand.
- Scour pots and pans.
- Keep records of the quantities of food used.
- Package take-out food.
- Portion and wrap foods.
- Prepare, heat, and finish simple food items.
- Serve customers at counters or buffet tables.
- Stock refrigerators and salad bars.
- Take customers' orders.
- Use manual and electrical appliances to clean, peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
- Clean and sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
- Handle and store cleaning products.
- Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
- Remove kitchen garbage and trash.
- Sharpen kitchen knives.
- Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors.
This is a fast-paced environment that requires physical stamina and the ability to work under pressure. You will be standing for extended periods and handling heavy loads.
Requirements- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and stand for extended periods.
- Efficient interpersonal skills and reliability.
- Team player with a positive attitude.
- Gratuities.
- Permanent work term.
- 30 to 44 hours per week.
- Work language: English.
