The Job

The starting salary range falls within the minimum to mid-point of the salary range. Starting Salary Range: $80,067 - $100,083

As the Manager, DTO, you will be responsible for leading a team of professionals in the development and implementation of health technology initiatives. You will work collaboratively with staff across the programs of the JCC Department, the JCCs, Doctors of BC, and leaders of other provincial health service organizations to enhance alignment and support collaboration to achieve the shared vision for health IM/IT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of professionals in the development and implementation of health technology initiatives.
  • Work collaboratively with staff across the programs of the JCC Department, the JCCs, Doctors of BC, and leaders of other provincial health service organizations.
  • Develop and implement initiatives that support and enable the use of health technology within clinical practice.
  • Provide leadership to the program staff and employ health informatics expertise to inform in-practice and community level primary care technology initiatives.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and/or recognized professional designation, and up to six years of progressive and related experience; or an equivalent level of related work experience in lieu of post-secondary education.
  • Requires advanced knowledge of a specific discipline in health information science, computer sciences, health administration or business and operational knowledge in the area of expertise.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading a team and in motivating and guiding team members.
  • Ability to work in a constantly changing landscape while meeting project deadlines and deliverables as position has direct impact on the team and may impact the entire organization.
  • Solid understanding of the BC healthcare system and demonstrated understanding of EMR vendor services and clinical benefits of technology-enabled practice.
  • Project and budget management experience, including experience with planning, evaluation, performance measurement, and change management strategies.
  • Ability to collaborate with other leaders to resolve strategic issues and resolve operational problems.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work in a complex environment with multiple stakeholder groups.
  • Effective writing skills and proven ability to develop clear and concise communication.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with PC based software, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Must be willing to travel within the province.

What You Bring
