Job Title: Finish Carpenter

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Solid Wood Home Services Inc. as a key member of our construction team.

Job Summary:

The Finish Carpenter will be responsible for ensuring that all construction projects are completed to the highest standards of quality and safety. This includes reading blueprints, preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Instructing apprentices
  • Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in various settings
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, outdoors, and in noisy environments
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work with minimal supervision
