Job Description: Director of Finance - Residential Property AccountingSalary and Benefits

The base salary is flexible depending on industry experience and exposure, plus a significant bonus structure, benefits, RRSPs, and 4 weeks' vacation. Our client values equity and diversity, recognizing the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.

Responsibilities
  1. Produce top-quality and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
  2. Manage the day-to-day activities of finance staff to ensure work is complete and deadlines are met.
  3. Prepare and analyze cash flows, budgets, and other special reports required by clients and management.
  4. Lead a team to manage lease administration and tenant-related matters for a portfolio of 20,000+ residential units across Canada.
  5. Ensure accuracy and completeness of lease data in Yardi Voyager.
  6. Review and manage tenant-related matters such as complex tenant ledgers, rent reduction programs, refunds, collections, disputes, etc.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in property management or real estate asset management, preferably within the multi-residential sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, Business, or a related field. CPA designation is strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of lease agreements, real estate law, provincial regulations, and property management practices.
