At Sun Life Financial, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Strategy Specialist to join our Security, Risk, and Crisis Management team. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic execution, analytical, coordination, and communications support to drive our cybersecurity initiatives forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver executive-level communications, reporting, and presentation materials to support our cybersecurity strategy.
  • Collaborate with technology and corporate teams to articulate our cybersecurity progress and strategic direction.
  • Oversee the coordination of Security Council, Business Unit Risk Committees, and other relevant forums.
  • Lead the development of global security strategy, focusing on a three-year view of emerging technology and aligning with our security program and initiatives.
  • Develop micro-strategies and business cases for future strategic investments and return on investments (ROI).
  • Work closely with technology teams to outline future roadmaps, initiatives, and project outcomes.
  • Support key proof of concepts, product evaluations, and build business cases for emerging technologies and capability sets.
  • Provide mentoring to more junior members of the team.

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in Business Administration, Communications, IT, or related discipline(s) or equivalent co-op work experience.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and engagement skills, with the ability to communicate with executives at the VP, SVP, and EVP level.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in technology and/or business writing.
  • Strong business and technical acumen, with analytical skills to absorb complex information and summarize key risks or concerns.
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in managing expectations, prioritization, and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with delivery and program teams, technical managers, and other business stakeholders.
