Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior Diesel Engine Technician to join our team in Calgary, Alberta. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and overhauling hydraulic systems on heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.

About the Role

This contract role offers an hourly wage ranging from $40.00 to $54.00, based on experience. The successful candidate will work straight days from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with potential overtime on weekends. In addition to competitive compensation, you will also enjoy comprehensive health benefits, including medical and dental coverage, as well as an RRSP matching program at 4%.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, overhaul, and install hydraulic systems on heavy vehicles and industrial equipment, focusing on Parker hydraulic pumps and CAT/Cummins engines.
  • Read and interpret hydraulic schematics, blueprints, and code specifications for industrial equipment installations.
  • Perform troubleshooting, testing, and repairs to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Install mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel systems as per schematics and industry standards.
  • Mentor and provide training to apprentices under supervision.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and contribute to a safe working environment.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Certification as a Red Seal Heavy Equipment Technician or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic.
  • A strong understanding of hydraulics, power transmissions, and diesel engines.
  • Experience with hydraulic schematics, hosing, crimping, and troubleshooting.
  • CVIP licensing or relevant experience is a strong asset.
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a team, with a focus on precision and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability to new technology and processes.
