About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at EDOKKO JAPANESE FOOD. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for leading and guiding our kitchen staff to deliver exceptional dining experiences for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks, and other kitchen workers to ensure seamless kitchen operations.
  • Develop and implement new recipes and cooking techniques to enhance our menu offerings.
  • Train and instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing, and presentation of food to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
  • Prepare and cook food on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions, to meet the demands of our busy restaurant.
  • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets, and specialty functions to ensure their culinary needs are met.
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances to ensure their safety and satisfaction.
  • Train staff in preparation, cooking, and handling of food to maintain high standards of food safety and quality.
Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in a senior culinary role, preferably in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills to lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff.
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of Japanese cuisine, including sushi preparation techniques.
  • Ability to work under pressure and maintain a fast-paced environment.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality and presentation.
