Salary
The estimated base salary for this role is $130,000 - $160,000 CAD per year, based on national averages in British Columbia, Canada.
In addition to a competitive base pay, employees in this role may be eligible for incentive compensation.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team as a Cloud Architect. In this role, you will design and develop scalable data pipelines using cloud-based technologies like AWS, GCP, and Azure.
You will work closely with our SRE team to develop and maintain a robust and compliant data infrastructure with minimal friction.
This is a challenging role that requires expertise in both streaming and batch-based streaming technologies, including Flink, Kafka, and Spark.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 7 years of experience in data engineering or a related field
- Experience in production with cloud computing platforms like AWS, GCP, Azure
- Production experience with version control tools and a validated understanding of containerization, build, and deployment processes
- Comfortable with one or more computer programming languages such as Java, Kotlin, Scala, Python, etc.
- Expertise in both streaming and batch-based streaming technologies including Flink, Kafka, Spark
- Familiar with privacy legislation with an understanding of its implications on data collection, reporting, and compliance
