Lumber Yard Supervisor

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lumber Yard Supervisor to join our team at Delta Cedar Saw Mill LP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our lumber yard, ensuring efficient and safe production processes.
Key Responsibilities- Schedule Work: Plan and coordinate the work schedule for our lumber yard team, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Maintenance and Repair: Arrange for maintenance and repair work to be carried out on our equipment and machinery, minimizing downtime and ensuring optimal performance.
- Quality and Production: Monitor quality and production levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to optimize performance.
- Reporting: Prepare and submit progress and other reports, providing valuable insights to our management team.
- Materials and Supplies: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed, ensuring that our lumber yard is well-stocked and equipped to meet production demands.
- Problem-Solving: Resolve work problems, provide technical advice, and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Mechanical Equipment: Supervise the operation of mechanical equipment and machinery, ensuring that they are used safely and efficiently.
- Team Supervision: Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of our workers, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Staff Training: Train staff and workers in job duties, safety procedures, and company policies, ensuring that they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- Office and Volunteer Staff: Supervise office and volunteer staff, providing guidance and support as needed.
- Experience: Experience in a similar role or industry is an asset.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
- Work Environment: The lumber yard is a hot, noisy, and outdoors environment, with odours present.
