Operations/Office Manager

Compass Point Recruitment is seeking an experienced Operations/Office Manager to join their expanding team. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Operations Director in developing and delivering the annual Operations Plan.

This is a newly created role designed to drive efficiency and productivity using lean manufacturing techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing operations and experience managing/implementing ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements.

The Operations/Office Manager will be responsible for:

  1. Collaborating with the Operations Director to ensure compliance with ISO standards and other industry regulations.
  2. Developing internal standards and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to achieve high-quality products and excellent service.
  3. Identifying and implementing processes to drive efficiency and productivity using lean manufacturing techniques.
  4. Designing and implementing training and development plans, and managing the performance management process for all staff.
  5. Leading and supporting the HR function, including job description creation, policy reviews, and maintaining staff records.
  6. Overseeing Health and Safety within the building, ensuring compliance with regulations and company policies.
  7. Maintaining service contracts and inspection records, and ensuring fire safety compliance.
  8. Supporting the implementation and development of IT systems to enhance engagement and productivity.
  9. Managing fleet and facilities, including liaising with utility companies.
  10. Ordering office supplies and factory consumables as needed.
Requirements:
  1. Experience managing/implementing ISO9001 and ISO14001 requirements is essential.
  2. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles (qualifications desirable).
  3. Understanding of HR management, ideally including training and development program design.
  4. Proficiency in Health & Safety management within an organisation.
  5. Strong background in manufacturing operations.
  6. Excellent communication skills at all business levels.
  7. Strong interpersonal skills and relationship-building capability.
  8. Quick, initiative-driven response to arising situations.
  9. Passionate energy for teamwork and independent initiative.
  10. Positive attitude towards learning and development.
  11. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise workload effectively.
  12. Attention to detail and accurate paperwork completion.
  13. Pride in presentation and organisational skills.
  14. Eagerness to solve problems with a positive outlook.
  15. Strong computer skills, particularly in Microsoft Office, with a forward-thinking approach to technology.
