Job Title: Family Lawyer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Family Lawyer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in family law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage family law files independently, handling a wide range of matters including separation agreements, spousal maintenance, and asset division.
  • Conduct hearings, discoveries, mediations, and trials, providing expert representation to clients.
  • Instruct support staff and receive instructions from clients, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Draft pleadings and speak to chamber applications, demonstrating exceptional writing and advocacy skills.
  • Negotiate at mediations and appear at trials, utilizing strong negotiation and advocacy skills to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Manage all aspects of a file from beginning to end, ensuring timely and efficient resolution of cases.
  • Experience in general civil litigation is an asset, but not required.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in British Columbia family law practice, with a strong track record of success.
  • Ability to handle challenging work and manage files independently, with a strong work ethic and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong judgment, interpersonal skills, and a desire to become part of the community served.
  • Enthusiasm for growing practice and working towards partnership, with a strong commitment to professional development.
Compensation
  • Salary to be negotiated, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
