Job Title: Child Youth Care Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Youth Care Worker to join our team at Nuu-chah-nulth/Coast Salish school. The successful candidate will provide a safe and supportive environment for children, promoting their social, emotional, and physical well-being.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement individualized plans to support children's education and life skills
  • Assess children's needs using trauma-informed practices and develop strategies to address them
  • Collaborate with staff, families, and community members to provide comprehensive support
  • Participate in case-conferencing and maintain accurate records
  • Engage in professional development and contribute to staff meetings
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience working with children with social-emotional, physical, or mental developmental challenges
  • Understanding of trauma-informed practices and culturally competent approaches
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and accuracy in record-keeping
