John Abbott College is seeking a qualified individual to fill a part-time contract representing a full and/or part-time workload in the Professional Theatre and Theatre Arts department.
Job SummaryWe are looking for a skilled Theatre Production Instructor to teach various courses in the Professional Theatre and Theatre Arts program. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in theatre production and a passion for teaching.
Responsibilities- Teach courses in lighting, integrated project, production lab, and theatre lab
- Develop and implement curriculum to meet the needs of students
- Assess student progress and provide feedback
- Collaborate with departmental team members to achieve common objectives
The successful candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Theatre Arts, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years directly related experience in the profession
- Demonstrated knowledge of the particular subject(s) to be taught
- Excellent English communication skills
- Ability to teach in other theatre areas an asset
- Several years related teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred
Bilingualism (English/French) and ability to teach in French are preferred, as per the College's language policy.
