Job Overview

We are seeking a Vice President of Strategic Initiatives to join their sophisticated Investor Relations and Co-Investments team. The successful candidate will report to the Group Head and be responsible for strategizing and executing on capital-raising activities and co-investment opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage investor relationships for the private funds, executing on strategies to raise investor awareness and understanding of the business.
  • Participate in strategic capital initiatives, including raising co-investment and capital raising.
  • Work with senior management to coordinate strategic initiatives with key investors.
  • Actively engage in the formulation of key messaging to the market and be an effective communicator of this messaging.
  • Be a subject matter expert on the firm's activities by participating in internal investment and asset management meetings in order to be able to communicate those activities effectively to investors and the market.
  • Participate in prospective investor outreach, including educating prospective investors on the merits of investing in alternative investments.
  • Manage inquiries from existing and prospective private fund investors, which may include RFIs, RFPs, DDQs, and ad hoc requests, by utilizing all internal and external resources to provide responses to all routine and non-routine questions.
  • Oversee the preparation and dissemination of IR and capital raising materials, including investor communications and updates, investor reporting, presentations, offering memoranda, case studies, and fact sheets, as well as internal communications materials, such as investment committee memos and investor updates, for major transactions and capital raising initiatives.
  • Liaise with Client Relationship Managers globally with respect to the ongoing maintenance of existing private fund investors, including presenting to investment committees and boards as required.
  • Support the build-out and ongoing maintenance of the firm's investor base with private banks, family offices, and RIA.

Requirements

  • Ten + years of experience in any of the following disciplines: investing/asset management, investment banking, corporate development, or investor relations.
  • Strong transactional experience in private markets and investments, including direct and co-investments.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or finance.
  • MBA and/or CFA designation preferred.
  • Clear history of working with private fund investors.
  • Experience with renewables, power, energy, or infrastructure an asset.
  • Able to manage a team of individuals and demonstrates a commitment to shared success above any personal accomplishment or recognition.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a particular strength in dealing with a wide variety of individuals at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Analytic and strategic thinker with the ability to assess complex situations and make effective recommendations.
  • Proactive self-starter who is able to handle pressure effectively and has experience working with senior management teams.

Eligibility

At present, legal eligibility to work in Canada is a prerequisite for this role.
