Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Development Specialist to join our team at the Center for Watershed Protection. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and reviewing long-range infrastructure planning, evaluating development applications, and supporting technical information.

About the Role

This is a full-time position (37.5 hours per week) with a comprehensive benefits and pension package. Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and support in delivery of long-range planning studies such as the City's Utility Master Plan, Transportation Master Plan, and Stormwater Master Drainage Plan.
  • Review Community Area Structure Plans, Neighbourhood Structure Plans, and Subdivision Applications.
  • Support the Planning department in review of development permits to ensure they meet the City's engineering standards.
  • Work with the City's Capital Projects department in delivery of capital infrastructure projects by providing engineering review and subject matter expertise.
Required Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering with designation as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Alberta and a minimum of 3 years of experience related to municipal engineering (transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater engineering, etc.). They will possess knowledge in the design of municipal infrastructure including transportation, water, wastewater, stormwater systems, etc.

In addition, the candidate should have experience using RoadMatrix, Synchro 11, Sidra, PCSWMM, WaterCAD, or InfoWorks ICM, and demonstrate sound judgment, flexibility/adaptability, initiative, and accountability to establish priorities and meet client expectations/deadlines.

A valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License (or equivalent) is also required.

Estimated Salary Range

$97,567 - $121,959 per year based on experience and qualifications.
