Fleet Maintenance and Repair Opportunities

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle and Equipment Technician to join our team at the City of Ottawa. As a key member of our Fleet Maintenance and Technical Services department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and safety of our municipal fleet.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct diagnostic inspections and perform general mechanical overhaul and repair work on a wide range of fleet vehicles and equipment.
  • Perform scheduled preventive daily maintenance inspections and repairs on vehicle systems and components.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with peers and managers to achieve maintenance and repair goals.
  • Use manual and electronic diagnostic equipment, as well as personal computers, to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Truck and Coach Technician 310T apprenticeship program or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a municipal fleet or similar truck and coach environment.
  • Valid Ontario Certificate of Qualification as Truck and Coach Technician 310T.
  • Valid Ontario unrestricted DZ class driver's license (or provincial equivalent) with no more than 6 demerit points accumulated.
