Senior Corporate Accountant

The Senior Corporate Accountant will play a key role in preparing and presenting consolidated financial statements to executives, owners, and regulatory bodies. This includes working with subsidiaries to ensure timely reporting and preparation of working papers that facilitate analysis and review. The successful candidate will also engage in other projects and activities as necessary to support the position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements and working papers.
- Responsible for analysis and review of results to support commentary.
- Responsible for drafting commentary for various statements and reports submitted to stakeholders.
- Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
- Participate in year-end audit of Corporate financial results, including creation of schedules to support the drafting of notes to the financial statements.
- Responsible for coordinating deadlines with subsidiaries to ensure timeliness of reporting.
- Lead or participate in special projects in the finance area.

- Has achieved designation through the Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) Program.
- Has interest and experience with current IFRS developments.
- Has exceptional attention to detail and business acumen.
- Can manage in a multi-task environment.
- Has ability to use solid judgement and decision-making skills.
- Has excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Can maintain confidentiality.
- Is an initiative-taker with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills.
- Has knowledge of Great Plains and the transportation industry considered an asset.
