EHS Director

We are seeking an experienced EHS Director to lead our team in delivering exceptional environment, health, and safety outcomes for the Darlington New Nuclear Project. As a key member of our nuclear sector, you will be responsible for developing and championing strategic direction for environment, health & safety, including policy development, metrics tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
As an EHS Director, you will lead alongside the on-boarding and training team all EH&S training initiatives as required, handle executive level escalation of critical incidents or issues, and participate in various DNNP management, client and EH&S committees.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Champion EHS Strategy: Develop policies, procedures, standards, and metrics to ensure the delivery of exceptional EHS outcomes.
- Liaise with Stakeholders: Build relationships with partners, industry experts, vendors, and governmental agencies to ensure effective collaboration and information sharing.
- Lead EH&S Training Initiatives: Partner with the on-boarding and training team to develop and deliver comprehensive EH&S training programs.
- Manage Critical Incidents: Escalate critical incidents or issues to senior leadership, ensuring timely resolution and minimizing risk.
To succeed in this role, you must have demonstrated successful experience leading a progressive EH&S organization in a project-based environment. A relevant bachelor's degree and CRSP designation are also essential. Strong communication skills, public speaking experience, and government relations expertise are highly valued.
Able to work effectively with other departments to identify and create solutions that mitigate organizational risk, you should be comfortable working in confined spaces and/or heights if required. In-depth knowledge of WSIB legislation, policies, practices, and nuances is also necessary.
What We OfferWe offer a competitive salary of approximately $130,000 - $160,000 per year, based on experience. This role requires travel between different office and field locations. We strongly encourage applicants who identify as Indigenous to apply.
