Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Bus Driver to join our team at School District #50 (Haida Gwaii). As a key member of our transportation department, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of students within the district.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate school buses to transport students within the district, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the school buses, adhering to strict safety and hygiene standards.
  • Work under the supervision of the Manager of Operations, taking direction from Principals and individual teachers as needed.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Grade 10 graduation
  • Valid BC Class 4 Unrestricted Driver's License
  • Ability to interact with students in an effective manner
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties
  • Willingness to obtain WCB Level I First Aid certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and experience of Haida culture
  • Ability to communicate in multiple languages
