About the Role

The Backend Platform team is responsible for enabling fast, safe, and delightful backend development at scale. As an Engineering Manager, you'll own day-to-day operations, help engineers grow their careers, and set the direction for backend engineering at Robinhood.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain reliable, scalable platforms and client libraries for Robinhood backend services.
  • Manage dependencies and builds for backend ecosystems, ensuring seamless collaboration across teams.
  • Design and implement frameworks and tools to empower productive workflows, driving engineering excellence.

Your Impact

  • Support engineers in their professional growth, providing clear feedback and guidance to grow future engineering leaders.
  • Establish high technical standards through processes (design reviews, testing) and culture (engineering excellence).
  • Prioritize and implement impactful initiatives to empower Robinhood's 500+ backend engineers, fostering collaboration and driving execution efficiently.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading engineering teams, solving complex problems, and driving technical excellence.
  • A strong background in backend engineering, with a deep understanding of technical systems and architecture.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills, with a focus on clarity and thought leadership.
