Job Title: Protection and Control Specialist

Hydro One Networks Inc is seeking a skilled Protection and Control Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and reliable operation of our power system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform initial inspections and trouble-shooting to identify and resolve issues with protection and control equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and tests on installed equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Investigate incorrect or unexplained equipment performance to identify and correct faults.
  • Collaborate with design and functional groups to ensure complete understanding of proposed work.
  • Perform functional tests to ensure that protection and control schemes satisfy performance requirements.
Requirements:
  • Requires a strong knowledge of power system protection and control principles and practices.
  • Requires a knowledge of instruments and test equipment used in checking electrical and electronic circuits.
  • Requires a knowledge of advanced mathematics, including calculus, analytical trigonometry, algebra, and logarithms.
  • Must have a valid "Full" G Driver's License.
  • Successful validation of a PRA (Personnel Risk Assessment) is required.
