About the Role

IMAX is seeking a seasoned financial leader to oversee a team and three functional areas, including Corporate Accounting, Payroll, and Inventory. As a Director, Finance, you will report directly to the SVP, Finance & Controller and be responsible for financial accounting and analysis, process improvement, and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Corporate Accounting team in financial accounting and analysis, including joint revenue sharing arrangements, theatre maintenance revenue recognition, and fixed and intangible assets.
  • Oversee the Payroll team in financial accounting and analysis, including payroll and benefit transactions, and sales commission programs.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory team in financial accounting and analysis, including theatre system inventory transactions and theatre maintenance services.
  • Design and execute the monthly financial close process in partnership with the Director of Financial Reporting.
  • Ensure the effective design and operation of internal controls over financial reporting for all functional areas.
  • Collaborate with operational business leaders to anticipate and implement new accounting controls and processes.
  • Coordinate external and internal audit requests for all functional areas.

Requirements:

  • CPA with 7+ years' of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of audit experience and hands-on industry experience at a global publicly traded company.
  • Strong technical skills in U.S. GAAP and familiarity with IFRS.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with SAP.
  • Confident and experienced leader of people with a mindset of continuous incremental improvement.
