About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Director to join our team at IMAX. As a key member of our Finance department, you will be responsible for overseeing the financial accounting and analysis of our joint revenue sharing arrangements, theatre maintenance revenue recognition, fixed and intangible assets, financing receivables, current expected credit losses, and leases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of the monthly financial close process in partnership with the Director of Financial Reporting.
  • Ensure the effective design and operation of internal controls over financial reporting for all functional areas within the Assistant Controller's organization.
  • Collaborate with operational business leaders to anticipate and implement new accounting controls and processes in response to business developments.
  • Coordinate external and internal audit requests for all functional areas within the organization.
  • Work closely with the Vice President, Finance of IMAX China to standardize and harmonize accounting controls and processes.
Requirements
  • CPA with 7+ years' of progressive accounting experience, including a mix of audit experience, preferably at a Big Four firm, and hands-on industry experience at a global publicly traded company.
  • Strong technical skills in U.S. GAAP and familiarity with IFRS.
  • Advanced Excel skills and hands-on experience with SAP.
