Job Title: Painter and Decorator
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Painter and Decorator to join our team at S&S General Contractors. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for preparing, cleaning, and sanding surfaces to be painted, repairing cracks and holes, and applying paint, wallpaper, and other materials to interior and exterior surfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, clean, and sand surfaces to be painted
- Repair cracks and holes
- Measure, cut, and apply wallpaper and other fabric to walls
- Advise consumers on colours and choice of wall coverings
- Erect scaffolding and swing stages and attach rigging
- Apply paint, wallpaper, and other materials and finishes to interior and exterior surfaces
- Estimate costs and materials
Requirements:
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
- Ability to work outdoors, underground, at heights, and in confined spaces
- Attention to detail, hand-eye co-ordination, and ability to distinguish between colours
- Physically demanding work
Work Environment: Our team works in various locations, including outdoors and underground. You will be required to work at heights and in confined spaces.
Work Setting: Our team works on-site, providing customer service and working in a fast-paced environment.
Personal Suitability: We are looking for a reliable, flexible, and client-focused individual who can work independently and as part of a team.
