Software Engineer Consultant/Expert: Web Applications

Job Summary:

Altair Engineering is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer Consultant/Expert to join our team. This is a contract position that requires a strong background in software engineering and web application development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Migrate web applications from desktops and servers to cloud-based platforms.
  • Develop web applications that support the Model e software factory.
  • Deploy, monitor, and support web applications, as well as troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Configure and monitor product and continuous integration builds.
  • Define and discern key aspects of problems that require analysis and research, and develop integrated solutions within a broad technical and business context.
  • Ensure web applications support build and development best practices.
  • Modify, install, and prepare technical documentation for use by development and test groups.
  • Diagnose, isolate, and debug software problems and perform problem resolution.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
  • Experience building and supporting C and C++ applications.
  • Experience building Java web applications and proficiency with Spring, Spring Boot, and Hibernate.
  • Experience working with relational databases, such as MariaDB, MySQL, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Continuous Integration tools, such as Jenkins, and cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Linux or Unix operating systems, as well as proficiency in scripting languages, such as bash, lua, and perl.
  • 5 years of experience in software engineering and web application development.
