Job Summary:

The Sales and Merchandising Manager is responsible for driving business growth and excellence within one or more specialized merchandise departments at a Bass Pro Shops retail location. This role leads world-class customer service and operational delivery by developing and engaging team members daily in all facets of department operations, including merchandise presentation, inventory control, pricing, sales enhancements, staff selection and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional customer service and ensure a pleasant and productive shopping experience for all customers.
  • Meet or exceed all financial plans and execute sales events plans.
  • Act as Manager on Duty and open/close the store, maintaining planograms and ensuring all standards of cleanliness and safe work practices.
  • Staff the departments with service-oriented team members, participating in interviewing and selection, coordinating training, reviewing and evaluating performance, preparing weekly work schedules, and coaching and motivating team members to promote positive customer relations and a productive team-oriented work environment.
  • Resolve customer and team member issues, carrying out management functions in accordance with the Company's policies and applicable laws.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years in retail management with responsibility for sales and merchandising.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, read and analyze relevant reports and data, define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to understand various financial, compliance, workplace safety, and technical information, write reports and business correspondence, and effectively present information and respond to questions from others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with others, as well as knowledge of/ability to learn various office technology and software applications related to a retail business.
  • Ability to obtain a Possession and Acquisition License (if required).
