Job Title: Editor

We are seeking an experienced Editor to join our team at Explorer Group Canada Ltd. as a key member of our publishing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and editing content to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate suitability of material for publication, broadcast, or publication on the Internet
  • Detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax
  • Shorten or lengthen copy as required
  • Plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly
  • Confer with authors, staff writers, reporters, and others regarding revisions to copy
  • Plan and coordinate activities of staff and ensure production deadlines are met
  • Write or prepare introductions, marketing and promotional materials, bibliographic references, indexes, and other text
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or related field
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in editing or publishing
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Publisher, MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, and MS Word
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:
  • 35 hours per week
  • Permanent position
